The Glen Moray Elgin Classic Chardonnay Cask Finish doesn’t come with an age statement. It’s said to be finished in Chardonnay white wine casks for 8 months. It’s part of the Glen Moray Elgin Classic range along with Glen Moray Peated Single Malt and Glen Moray Port Cask Finish among others.
TASTING NOTES GLEN MORAY ELGIN CLASSIC CHARDONNAY CASK FINISH
Nose: easy, fruit-forward, mostly ripe apples, also honey and melon, white wine presence is making it feel a little oxidized, some rather active oak.
Taste: starts sweet, grapes, getting vinous and super acidic, feels young. There’s quite a bit of wine influence, oak bitterness.
Finish: shortish, sweet wine, very vinous now, more oak dryness.
In the Glen Moray Elgin Classic Chardonnay Cask Finish the wine has had quite an influence indeed, nothing wrong with it at all, but this specific bottling is just not very exciting.
