José “Pepin” García is a Cuban who, fifteen years ago, founded a small factory in Miami, where he began to produce cigars under the brand of the same name. It is difficult to grasp, that he left is homeland and today he is one of the most renowned names in the world of cigars. This is in fact the true testimony of the American Dream.
According to the the García family, a three year process has been dedicated to the cigar. The tobaccos have been specially selected and aged. It is a Nicaraguan Puro, with a Nicaraguan Habano Rosado Oscuro wrapper. It is rumored, that the filler includes Pelo de Oro, which is known for its strength and sweetness but also for its proneness to diseases during the cultivation.
The filler tobaccos are the result of the farms, La Estrella and El Pedrero, owned by the family and located in Esteli, Nicaragua. My Father Cigars SA, García’s main production site, created this commemorative cigar. There will be two available sizes: a Toro (52 x 165 mm) and a Robusto (50 x 146 mm) with production limited to 2,000 boxes for each size.
