On April 10th, Jon A. Huber, co-founder of Crowned Heads, announced The Angel’s Anvil exclusive TAA (Tobacconists’ Association of America) edition for the current year. Founded in 1968, the TAA traditionally provides retailers with the tools and opportunities to optimize their business in the tobacco world, but commercialized in the so-called ‘brick and mortar’ stores. The fifth edition of the cigar, specifically dedicated to the association, will be presented at the convention to be held from April 29 to May 3, in Casa de Campo (La Romana), Dominican Republic.
The cigars will be made at Tabacalera La Alianza S.A. owned by an icon of the cigar industry: Ernesto Perez-Carillo Jr .; the blend includes Nicaraguan tobaccos in binder filler, while the wrapper will be an Ecuadorian Sumatra. The chosen size, 52 x 140mm, has been given the name ‘Genios’.
Jon A. Huber said last Tuesday: ” We have different ties with the Dominican Republic and, for the fifth exclusive TAA edition, it was our intention to create something unique and new by paying homage to this country. It is the first occasion in which we use a Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper for our Angel’s Anvil and the color of the packaging could only be inspired by the flag of the Dominican Republic ”.
The total production is limited to one thousand boxes, each containing twenty cigars, with shipments expected to land between May and June.
